Table runners are a great way to add a touch of style to a room, pop a color, celebrate a holiday and do double duty as they protect the surface of your fine furniture. Below are several options to get your ideas flowing.

Add the luck o' the Irish to your holiday celebration with this Irish Chain Table Runner. This particular one is created with a Christmas theme but of course any holiday or seasonal theme is possible! Colors can be coordinated to your home's decor. The backing is 100% soft white cotton to protect your furniture surface as well. The runner measures 20" x 44". It uses cotton batting and as with all of my items the binding is custom made to match the piece, double thick for durability, and hand sewn to the back.

Not all table runners are long. This one is approximately 18” square and perfect for a small entry table or under a centerpiece. Almost any quilt block can be adapted to create a smaller runner of this type.

The pattern for this table runner is called Braided Elegance. I’ve found the variations of this very simple style to be endless. The center medallion can be pieced to form the kaleidoscope image as in this example, or it can be a single piece to highlight a motif. The quilting is done along the seam lines to enhance the braided effect as well as highlight the fabrics. As with all table runners the backing is either a natural or white cotton that protects your furniture. Cotton batting and double thick binding complete the piece.
